Our Vision

Climate Change is a global phenomenon, the world's elite cities are creating plans for dealing with the worldwide issue known as climate change. Chandigarh, India's first planned city, has always been at the forefront of innovation and advanced urban planning. The establishment of the CCC in the DoE, Chandigarh was intended to build a climate change resilient Chandigarh. To accomplish this, the CCC fosters technological applications, robust research and development, and basic science. This not only serve as an effective tool in climate change mitigation strategies, but also create an ecosystem of research, collaborative actions, and public awareness. In addition to carrying out environmental and climate change-related initiatives in U.T. Chandigarh, the CCC also fosters interdepartmental collaboration and coordination, which improves the department's expertise in tackling climate change issues. Overall, the CCC serves as a useful information hub, providing stakeholder-based outreach programs and efforts to meet the information and knowledge needs of beneficiaries on climate change-related topics. Its primary aim is to build a greater understanding of the climate change processes, their implications on various sectors, and vulnerabilities associated with the same to facilitate both the reduction of climate change drivers and sustainable adaptation to it.
